Blackboard Collaborate sessions can only be set up from within a Blackboard Module or Community shell.
If you would like to use collaborate you will need to request activation by emailing the ITMS Service Desk with the words Blackboard Collaborate as the subject.
You will also need to provide the module code for the module or modules on which you wish to activate Collaborate. ITMS will then activate Collaborate and inform you when this has been done.
The Blackboard collaborate tool is not accessible by default within all Blackboard modules. This is because DMU currently has a limited use license, which sets a limit on how many individual users can use Collaborate over a 12 month period. In order to be able to effectively manage the number of user licenses, for the time being Collaborate is only available on a by request basis.
CELT recommends that any staff member who wishes to use Collaborate should attend an Introduction to Blackboard Collaborate session. These sessions are available as part of the central CELT Staff Development Sessions or can be arranged by contacting your Faculty ELT Project Officer
