How to set Announcements as your Blackboard ‘Course Entry Point’ and add a banner image

To ensure students instantly recognize that they are in the correct Blackboard shell (or not), and to provide more visually appealing impact, we recommend an informative and colourful banner be included in the Announcements page header. The header includes both programme and module details:

To set the Course Entry Point to Announcements

  1. Under Course Management, click on Customization>Teaching Style:

  1. Change the Course Entry Point to the Announcements page:

To add your banner image to the header

3. Under Select Banner, click on ‘Browse my Computer’ to select your banner image file:

  1. For accessibility, add appropriate ‘Banner Alt Text’.

 

  1. Finally, click Submit.
