The rating feature in discussion board allows you and your students to rate individual posts on a five star scale and will show the overall rating for the post. Rating posts is another way to provide feedback and an option for peer review of students' posts. You need to ensure that on the discussion board set up and forum settings that you have the option 'Allow members to rate posts' selected.

Rating a Thread

1. Access the Discussion board, and then click the forum where you have enabled rating of posts.
2. On the forum page, click the Thread you wish to view.
3. At the Thread Detail screen, next to Rate this Post, select the number of stars you wish to give the post by dragging your course over the start on a scale of 1-5 stars.

    

   The next participant to view this posting will see the overall rating and will be able to rate the post for themselves.
