Use the Snipping tool to create screenshots for student guidance
Using a Windows PC, you can use the Snipping Tool to capture words or images from all or part of your computer screen. This capture can then be used for a range or purposes, such as for step-by-step student guidance. This article has even been produced by using the Snipping Tool for it’s captured images.
Using the Snipping Tool to create screenshots for student guidance
To locate the Snipping Tool, go to the search icon on the taskbar on a Windows PC.
Start typing ‘Snipping Tool’ and the application will appear for you to select.
The Snipping Tool menu will appear. For a simple option, select the New button.
You will then be able to select a ‘box’ around the area of the computer screen that you would like to capture. When you have finished selecting, save your captured image file by going to File > Save as…
You can then add this captured imaged file anywhere you require – such as in an e-mail, a Blackboard announcement, PowerPoint slide or Word document. Simply use the Insert Image option and locate the file if using a Microsoft application, or the Add media icon if in Blackboard.
