Using rubrics to communicate marking criteria and provide feedback
When marking within Turnitin, you can use a rubric or grading form to provide feedback to students. Your rubric or grading form can be customised based on your marking criteria for an assignment. There are a range of benefits of using a rubric or grading form. In particular, it can provide students with a consistent feedback structure based on the assignment’s marking criteria.
Adding a rubric or grading form
You can create a new rubric or grading form when you create a Turnitin assignment link. Go to the ‘Optional settings’ section at the bottom of the page:
From there, head to the ‘Online grading’ section and then ‘Launch Rubric/Form Manager’:
Using the menu icon, select either ‘Create new rubric’ or ‘Create new grading form’ and create your desired form or rubric based on your marking requirements:
When marking, the rubric/grading form icon will be enabled you to and other markers on your module to use when providing feedback to students. Students will be able to access this feedback on the Post Date of the Turnitin assignment.
